GRIEF CIRCLE : For love and support

"The wound is the place where the Light enters you." – Rumi

"I believe that when we experience loss or change in our lives, we feel destabilized. We lose our routines and habits. Regardless of whether the loss is painful or joyful, we are often not ready to let go of the past—either because we don’t know how or we simply can’t. Forgiveness and acceptance are vital, yet they can be difficult to achieve. In these tough moments, what we need most is connection—connecting with others who are also navigating grief. We want to feel supported, loved, connected and understood.

That is the purpose of this circle."

About the Group

The Grief Circle is a safe and supportive space led by a dedicated Grief Recovery Specialist Hounaïda Bellasfar. This circle is for those navigating the complexities of loss, whether you're coping with the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, pet loss, or facing significant life changes in health, finances, or environment. By joining this circle, you will find peace and begin your healing journey within a compassionate community.

Our gathering provide a nurturing environment where participants can share their experiences, express their emotions, and connect with others going through grief. You’ll have opportunities to share if you feel comfortable, and there will also be moments of learning and guidance to help you understand and process grief in a healthier, more effective way.

The circle is designed to foster compassion, deep listening, and a shared sense of hope.

  • What differs from traditional therapy is the speed and effectiveness of the changes

Before my experience with grief recovery, I was depressed, often cried, felt angry, and saw myself as a victim of certain people around me.

Since my sessions on grief recovery, my life has changed. Here are some changes, with my state improving more and more:

My great anger towards certain people around me has transformed into understanding.

    Detachment from the difficult event.

    Disappearance of anxious ruminations.

I am proud to have gone through this difficult event.

I am happy and feel capable of continuing to live my life with strength, courage, and acceptance.

I am in contact with the people I was angry with, and I express myself with them with respect and confidence.

I am happy to be myself.

What differs from traditional therapy is the speed and effectiveness of the changes in my thoughts and behaviors. Moreover, these changes last over time and continue to progress.

  • I feel alive, connected, and happy!

Sometimes we spontaneously accept to take a course without knowing what it will bring us. This is what I discovered with Grief Recovery. Of course, it was liberating to complete the past, to be at peace with my father, my mother, and the important people who are or have been in my life.

Since then I have been discovering the results I got after being able to speak in a meeting where I didn't know anyone without being afraid, making choices so that my day goes smoothly, prioritizing myself, and being happy to help others without doing it in an obligatory way, packing my bags before leaving on a trip without stressing myself, simply enjoying the trip that is coming and so much more.

Thank you Hounaïda for making me see hidden sides and for accompanying me in a professional way on this liberating path. Thank you for allowing me to reconnect with my feelings and emotions, I feel alive, connected, and happy!

  • I am a pet crematorium owner in Canada

I am a pet crematorium owner in Canada who wants to have a professional to refer our clients to when it comes to grief/loss. As a business owner, I felt that in order to be confident and comfortable forwarding clients along to someone, I should experience the program myself so I know firsthand what it entails and can give a prelude to people so they comprehend the full value of the program. I had Derek Cooke as a mentor until he retired and have felt this last while that it was time to have someone that we could refer for grief/loss support. Hounaïda Bellasfar is close by and will definitely be that person for us here on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada.

  • Gave me effective tools to help my daughter

My daughter was struggling with my divorce. Hounaïda helped me understand my old way of grieving and gave me effective tools to help my daughter: how to communicate with her, what to say, and what to do. I am very grateful that this program exists and I highly recommend Hounaïda as a GRM specialist. She's the best! Helping Children With Loss

  • Hounaïda is very talented and probably saved my life

Hounaïda is very talented and probably saved my life. I was hopelessly lost dealing with a messy divorce and she helped me see that I could create whatever outcome I wanted and got me out of my depression and negative thoughts. Most impressive is my kids have tools to manage now and they're much better at expressing themselves and seem happier overall. Thanks again Hounaïda!

  • My life is better now than ever.

I believe going through the Grief Recovery program with my father as the focus, allowed me a safe place to start opening up other relationships.

For many reasons, my life is better now than ever. I am filled with purpose, intention, love, forgiveness, acceptance, and pure joy……and when I’m not I get grateful and remind myself of this journey and the learning and opening up that the Grief Recovery program gave me.

  • I found it very helpful.

I recently went through a grief workshop with @hounaidabellasfar and I found it very helpful. The workshop not only helps you work through the sharp grief you may feel after the death of a loved one but also helps you realize how many losses you have actually had in your life and the grief that may be compounding inside. ❤️

What to Expect from the Grief Circle:

This single Grief Circle session is designed to provide both emotional support and practical guidance in a nurturing and safe space. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Opening Grounding Exercise: We will start with a short grounding exercise, such as deep breathing or a mindfulness activity, to help everyone settle in and feel centered before we begin.

  2. Introduction and Welcome: I will introduce myself, share a bit about the purpose of the circle, and explain how the session will unfold. Participants will also have an opportunity to introduce themselves if they feel comfortable.

  3. Sharing and Listening: There will be a dedicated time for participants to share their personal experiences with grief, if they wish. This is a space for open expression, where everyone is encouraged to speak from the heart, while others listen with empathy and without judgment. Sharing is always voluntary.

  4. Guided Learning and Reflection: During the session, I will introduce key concepts around grief and healing, offering practical tools and insights to help you process your loss in a healthier way. You will also have time to reflect on how these ideas relate to your own journey.

  5. Closing Circle: We will close the session with a group reflection, where participants can share any final thoughts or feelings. We’ll end with a short meditation or visualization exercise to leave you feeling more grounded, supported, and hopeful.

From Heartbreak to Healing: My Personal Path Through Loss

PET LOSS PICTURE

I understand the deep pain that comes with loss. When my beloved dog, BB Prince, who was like a son to me, passed away, I felt isolated in my grief. I struggled to talk about it and felt misunderstood, which only deepened my sadness, anger, and loneliness. Even after adopting another dog, the pain didn’t go away. It wasn’t until I discovered the Grief Recovery Method (GRM) that I found peace and began healing. GRM allowed me to work through my grief step by step, freeing myself from guilt and sadness.

More recently, I went through a difficult breakup that shattered my dreams of family and love. It left me feeling betrayed and deeply hurt, but using the same tools, I was able to stand up, move forward, and rise with resilience. Though painful memories resurface, I now embrace hope, joy, and freedom, focusing on self-love and living my purpose to help others connect and heal.

I’m here to share this journey with you and support you in finding peace and healing, just as I did.

"Together, we can transform our grief into hope."
